The 5000 Year Leap
A Miracle That Changed The World
Friends, we are living in perilous times. That is nothing new in the history of planet Earth. The difference now is that much of the peril we face is self inflicted. It is not through the plots and designs of some foreign enemy that we are threatened, but through our own ignorance. This ignorance has allowed our freedoms to erode, placed us in the position of being a debtor nation and is taking us down a path towards socialism. There is a proverb that states ‘My people perish for lack of knowledge.’ The knowledge I’m talking about are the principles that our nations government was founded on. You can blame in on public schools, outcome based education, the dumbing down of society in general or anything else you care to. The bottom line is that this deficiency is OUR fault, yours and mine. We are the electorate, the government works for us, at least for the time being. WE have dropped the ball on this one. The 5000 Year Leap is an attempt to correct that deficiency.
The 5000 Year Leap takes the principles that the Founding Fathers used to write the Federalist Papers, the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution, along with other founding documents. It breaks these down into 28 principles including Natural Law, Free Market Economics, The Role of Religion, The Soverignty of the People, Equal Rights, Not Equal Things among others. These principles are explained in clear, concise language.
Many people feel that studying the Constitution is a dry, boring subject. I believe that, like any other subject, it is often the presenter and not the material presented that is the problem. You will not find the 5000 Year Leap dry, dull or boring, nor should you. This is the stuff our country was founded on. This is the stuff that we need to remember to remain a free nation.
My personal opinion is this. This book should be required reading in our schools. Any elected official should be required to pass, with a minimum score of 80%, a yearly exam on the material. If they don't pass, they go home, immediately and start looking for a new job.
Now, I strongly recommend this book to you. Get a copy, give one to friend, send one to your representatives in D.C. We can still be the country the founders intended, but we, as a country and as a people, are going to have to relearn some things before it is too late.
